The Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining records, managing inventory, and providing customer service to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy operations.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process prescription orders (written, electronic, or verbal under supervision).
  • Prepare and label medications accurately under pharmacist supervision.
  • Measure, count, and package medications.
  • Maintain patient records and update pharmacy databases.
  • Handle insurance claims and billing processes.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking medications.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (as required by state/country regulations).
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology.
