The Nursing Assistant provides support to pharmacists and healthcare staff by assisting with patient care, medication preparation support, and administrative duties within the pharmacy. The role ensures efficient pharmacy operations while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications under supervision.
  • Support patient care activities, including taking basic patient information and vital signs when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace.
  • Help manage inventory, stocking, and checking expiry dates of medications.
  • Assist in labeling and packaging medications as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Provide basic patient guidance on medication usage as instructed by the pharmacist.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing prescriptions and managing patient queues.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Nursing Assistant / Health Care Assistant / Auxiliary Nursing.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in hospital, clinic, or pharmacy setting preferred.
