Job Summary

The Community Pharmacist is responsible for managing the daily clinical and operational activities of the retail pharmacy, ensuring safe dispensing of medications, delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care, and maintaining full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical & Professional Duties

·         Accurately review and dispense prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards.

·         Conduct thorough prescription screening for drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and dosing errors.

·         Provide medication counseling and health education to patients.

2. Regulatory & Compliance Management

·         Ensure full compliance with all pharmacy laws and professional regulations.

·         Maintain valid annual practicing license and ensure premises license is up to date.

·         Prepare and coordinate regulatory inspections.

3. Inventory & Stock Management

·         Oversee procurement from approved and licensed suppliers.

·         Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and batch numbers using FEFO/FIFO principles.

·         Prevent stock-outs of fast-moving and essential medicines.

4. Sales & Business Development

·         Drive ethical sales growth while prioritizing patient safety.

·         Monitor sales performance and margin control.

·         Implement strategies to increase prescription volume and OTC sales.

5. Team Leadership & Supervision

·         Supervise pharmacy technicians, assistants, and sales staff.

·         Train staff on product knowledge, customer service, and compliance procedures.

·         Schedule shifts and manage performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharma.D).
  • Current annual practicing license.
  • 2–5 years of community pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and dispensing accuracy.
  • Experience with pharmacy management software is an advantage.
